A Guide to Our Shade Sail Fabric Options

17 February 2025

We work in a huge variety of high quality colors, UV ratings, fabric densities, both in the waterproof version, as well as breathable materials. It can almost be overwhelming when trying to decide what to use for your custom project. Thankfully, we’ve got some amazing creative and technical talent on board and we’ll help you to create the perfect combinations for your space.

Once the conversation around the structure, fixing points, and design is done and out of the way, it’s time to pick colors for your shade sails. What you’ll end up choosing depends a whole lot on what your goals are for your project.

Just a few of the Palette Swatches we’ve got available for designing your shade sail.

Choosing Color Options.

Just like when deciding on the paint colors, details and highlights of your space, it’s important to plan what the completed Shade Sail project will look like. In the case of company spaces, creating a cohesive, professional, even using the brand colors for the shade sail installation, it can mean the difference between a confusing effect, and a perfectly harmonious, recognizable (did anyone say instagramable?) space.

Choosing UV Options.

The UV ratings on your shade sail fabric are extremely important, especially here in QLD. It’s another great reason to take extremely good care of your shade sails, so that nice high UV rating lasts a very long time. We include the ratings with every shade sail we install.

Important to remember.

We build your shade sails to last many years. From the stitching thread to the fixings, every part of our installations is carefully studied and researched in order to be the best possible structure for the job it needs to do. However, keeping your shiny new shade sails beautiful and looking great for years to come depends on you as well, maintenance, care and preventative measures such as:

  • Loosening the shade sails during high winds and the especially powerful storms we tend to have here in QLD.
  • Power washing the shade sails every now and again, to keep them fresh and clean.
  • Occasionally correcting any slack in the shade sails, to keep them nice and taut (we can show you how to do this.

We’ll talk more about the care you can give your shade sails in an upcoming post, in the meantime, pop over to our free shade sails design tool, and contact us if you have any questions.

We got you.
